Welcome to my Blog!
Hello, folks! Just a quick note to get this blog going. I wanted to call this blog "Confessions of A Teenage Runaway." Mostly just because it'll grab some attention fast. When you think about the words, "Teenage Runaway," you generally think of some troubled, rebellious teen bent on doing the wrong thing. Well. That wasn't me. I ran away because i was being abused. I was abused for years and despite writing at least 50 some-odd letters to our leaders, my judge, court appointed ad litem (who was paid handsomely to protect me) and many others who did nothing to help.
Beginning, I think it should go without saying, as the title (should) indicate, this blog is a companion to my websites, 'abuseletters.com & abuselettes.org.' Abuselettes. Yes. You're right. It doesn't make sense. It was a mistake. I think it was a server mistake, they say it was mine. Either way, I paid for the domain Abuselettes.org without reading the confirmation sheet, so... Until I produce some 'abuse-bracelettes,' it doesn't make a lot of sense.
The idea for a blog came as I was driving by my old (temporary) home at the site of the former "Chimney Rock Shelter," where I lived in 1988 between April and July after I ran away from abuse. Amazingly (to me), even after all these years, I still have moments that take me back to those days in Chimney Rock Shelter and Buckners Childrens Home...
So for now, I'm gonna go ahead and buy the domain, 'abuseletters.org!'
